DATA & CONTROL

Clear scope.
Your approval.

The assisted assessment starts with a company overview. Further access, extraction and buyer disclosure are separate decisions.

When you send an enquiry, GeneralWork receives and stores your details in HQ to review the opportunity and respond. This does not give us access to your systems or permission to share company records with buyers.

The first enquiry.

Share basic information you are authorised to provide: the business activity, known systems, operating history and relevant deadlines. No passwords, raw archives, installation or system connection are needed.

The assisted assessment.

We review the information you choose to share. If more detail or technical work is needed, we agree the method, systems, information, authorised people and handling arrangements before that work starts. This service is not a local-only scan; information you share with GeneralWork can be reviewed by the agreed team.

The browser extension.

The extension is awaiting Chrome Web Store approval. Its initial estimate counts usage figures and calculates a range on the authorised user’s computer. It opens no email, file or message content and sends no company data to GeneralWork unless the user chooses to share the result. These features apply to that extension process, not to the assisted service.

Assessments and estimates are not offers.

A first assessment identifies potential assets and next steps. Any tool-generated value range is indicative. Neither is an independent valuation or a guarantee of proceeds. Buyer offers depend on the records, context, rights, quality and permitted uses.

Appointment and agreed access.

If you want GeneralWork to explore a sale or licence, we agree an engagement scope and applicable data-processing terms. These define the systems, authorised people, access, storage, retention and deletion arrangements before further work starts.

Permission to review a summary is separate from permission to sample content, extract records or disclose them to a buyer. You approve the relevant scope and recipients before disclosure.

Check the rights and proposed use.

Holding a record does not by itself establish permission to license it. Personal, client-owned, confidential and third-party material may need to be excluded or handled under specific terms. The authorised company representative reviews the proposed scope, with advisers where needed.

The company remains involved.

A fund or adviser can nominate a company. That does not grant access to its systems or authorise disclosure of its records. Its authorised team approves participation and any later work.

Clear commercial terms.

The buyer pays GeneralWork’s fee when a sale or licence completes. No GeneralWork fees are charged to the company, fund or estate under this service. Any third-party expense requires prior approval. We disclose relevant compensation and relationships before introductions. There is no obligation to accept an offer.
